Volunteers in Patrol

Uniting Little Casa View residents with the Dallas Police Department

Volunteers in Patrol (VIP) is a program that allows residents to assist the Dallas Police Department by reporting suspicious or criminal activity. Following a special training that is provided by the police department, local residents patrol the neighborhood streets and alleyways in marked vehicles and with a partner in order to reduce crime. Many of these patrols happen during the day when residents are at work.

The mission of the Little Casa View Neighborhood VIP group is to promote a safer and more friendly environment throughout our neighborhood.”

WE NEED YOU IN VIP!

We are actively seeking volunteers to participate in this program. For details on becoming a Little Casa View VIP volunteer, please contact our current VIP coordinator, Cecilia Packheiser at littlecasaview@gmail.com.

Prior to participating in the program, you must successfully complete the training class provided by the Dallas Police Department.

All potential volunteers must complete an application, sign a waiver of liability and confidentiality agreement, and pass a criminal background check conducted by the DPD’s Neighborhood Patrol Officers Unit.

Benefits of becoming a Volunteer in Patrol:

* Volunteers get to know their neighbors.

* Volunteers contribute to a safer neighborhood.

* Volunteers inspire other neighbors to join and be active in their community.
