Front Yard Socials

Celebrating Community: A Look Back at Our Summertime Front Yard Socials

Our neighborhood is more than just a place to live, it's a community. This summer, our neighborhood association, in partnership with our neighbors, hosted three Front Yard Socials, bringing together old and new neighbors for evenings of fun, food, and friendship. Each event was held in a different front yard in our area and the turnouts were great! Here’s a recap of these wonderful gatherings that made our summer one to remember!

May 14: A Sizzling Start

Our first Summer Yard Social kicked off in mid-May in the impecable yard of the Leigh Ann Sanders and Ralph Cade on Ballycastle. Neighbors gathered to enjoy yummy hot dogs and Cecilia P’s homemade cake! We enjoyed yard games like corn hole and ring toss. The evening was a fantastic start to our summer series, setting the tone for the fun and celebration to come.

June 14: Mid-Summer Magic

The next Front Yard Social was hosted by the Rowley family on Fenwick, whose spacious front yard provided the backdrop for an evening of summertime fun. Guests enjoyed classic hot dogs, fresh pizza and homemade cookies (thanks once again to Cecilia P!). The kids enjoyed face painting and a splash pad and the yard games continued to be a big hit!

June 28: A Great Finale

In late June, the final Yard Social of the summer was co-hosted by Thomas and Stina Zepeda and Lynn Willard on Pat Drive. Lynn’s homemade barbecue sandwiches and fresh-cut fruit hit the spot. Stina served up a delicious cocktail, perfect for the hot summer day. Neighbors mingled and shared stories, connecting with new and old friends.

Looking Forward

These Summer Yard Socials were an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and create memories with our neighbors. We are already looking forward to next summer’s socials and the new neighbors we will meet. Thank you to everyone who participated and hosted.

Stay tuned for announcements about upcoming events, and let’s keep the spirit of Little Casa View alive all year round!
